HashtagLive Kuching 2018 (#LiveKCH2018) brings social media to life at a unique on-of-a-kind event which not only celebrates social media users, but also local social media content creators from Kuching.

This two day event will see social media content creators learn, mingle and perform alongside their followers and friends to make Kuching digitally inspired for social media content creation.

The name ‘HashtagLive’ was selected as hashtags are a common practice regardless of social media, and it links social media users to a certain topic or point. Therefore, HashtagLive Kuching brings meaning that it is an event where people of different backgrounds come together to enjoy what they have in common and celebrate unity and diversity without prejudice.

For the first time ever, a dedicated social media area for Twitter, Facebook and Instagram would be set up, giving those coming an opportunity to share ideas beyond just social media, but with social media being the backbone.

Those coming can enjoy live performances by up-coming local Sarawakian Youtube artist such as Azwan Juperi, Ashrun Zikri, Dzul Izzat, Joyce Khoo, Eric Goh, Sasha Ningkan and more. Popular Youtube star Nanasheme would also be performing at this event.

To enhance #LiveKCH, there would also be an eGames area where the Sarawak inter-varsity DoTA2 competition would be held, pitting the best e-Games teams in Kuching against each other for bragging rights and a change at RM1000 cash prize.

Aside from that, a massive market like ‘#LiveMarket’ would also be built to highlight over 20 online blog/social media shops to the masses.

To make #LiveKCH closer to the community, it will also be used as a platform educate the public and social media users about volunteerism and social media issues.

The organizers of #LiveKCH previously were also responsible for organizing Malaysia’s Best Social Media Gathering in 2013 named Tweet-Up Kuching.
